Foxmeister Posted 20 July 2016 Posted 20 July 2016 1 first team player has left that's right 1 - he didn't want to come, he was brilliant and then he left, which was planned given the release clause negotiated in his contract. We wouldn't have wanted him IMO if Cambiasso had stayed or Mendy/Veretout had signed and we've replaced him with the aforementioned Mendy at a little over a third of the price. He was instrumental in winning the league and therefore on top of the £26m profit has arguably added another £20m to the coffers (with his performances alone) UCL/Extra Sky money/Community Shield/ICC etc. etc. Walsh I think felt his job was done here and wanted a new challenge along with moving closer to his family, which surely we all understand, who of us would want to live 2 hours drive away from our nearest and dearest particularly when the job itself requires a lot of travelling? Look at all the players who have left Arsenal (again IMO a much bigger club than us) for the lure of more money and brighter lights elsewhere. We have just achieved more in 1 season than most of us thought we'd ever see in our lifetime and have a season full of promise to look forward to. 10 years ago we started the season with a 2-0 defeat to Luton, this season we've got trips to see Celtic, Barcelona and Man Utd at Wembley in pre season. Will everyone please for the love of God get a f*****g grip?

He's just been part of the best season we've ever had and he calls us "fc Leicester", I'm not sure his heart was really in it anyway. And Walsh wants a new challenge, a higher up role at a different club, maybe he just thinks he's done all he can here, maybe the thought of having money to spend rather than looking for bargains frightens him.
