boots60 Posted 31 August 2016 Posted 31 August 2016 The powers that be have fecked this up good & proper. Record low attendances, schoolkids & managers on the bench. Nobody's interested. Used to be a competition with a bit of kudos for teams in the lower divisions, now an excuse for trialists. I'll take a bit of notice if we get to Wembley!
Fox92 Posted 31 August 2016 Posted 31 August 2016 I won't take a bit of notice even if we get to Wembley. Absolutely stupid concept which has ruined lower league clubs chances of Wembley and all the money that is with it. It was never about playing English talent. We played a back four last night which included Polish, Spanish and French. How is that us helping young English talent progress? Fair play to the clubs that said no - Liverpool and both Manchester clubs among those - I'm sure people will be looking forward to seeing West Ham U23 v Norwich U23 in the final at Wembley.
Samilktray Posted 31 August 2016 Posted 31 August 2016 I swear I read that only us and 1 other premier league clubs reserve team went through last night. Pretty sure the final will still be between 2 boring lower league clubs don't worry.

Teams like West Ham and Everton have good reserve teams and probably stronger than most football league sides. As for "boring", it's their competition to make them money. I don't understand why any football fan would support this.
