NewEnglandFox Posted 12 October 2016 Posted 12 October 2016 What's Kevin Philips up to these days? I remember he was supposed to be the only academy coach who knew anything about anything. But I do think it's a step in the right direction to be playing our real youngsters instead of fringe players. But hopefully they don't lose morale in constantly getting butchered. Didn't Ranieri put an end to playing our fringe players in the youth setups? But It does suck for Kapustka or Chilwell that they don't see any playing time.
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 13 October 2016 Posted 13 October 2016 The policy of using young and developing players is affecting results. The club could but do not chose to add a bit of experience from the senior players not getting game time. This is fair enough but why play Hamer? He is not developing but basically doing a Conrad and not that great IMO. 1st goal was quality, 2nd he left the near post wide open, 3rd came out, made himself big then stopped allowing the striker to place his shot. Better developing keeper on the bench that has a future at the club.

I'm pretty sure Ben Chilwell has played U23 games? So has Kapustka at some point. I say again, their not playing because they are playing for England and Poland, as was the case in the last round of the checkatrade and in Kaptustkas case the round before that.
