bigDfox33 Posted 20 February 2017 Posted 20 February 2017 It is Safer to say they were one season wonders than to expect them to be The usual top 4 or 5 caliber. Come on, if it were easier each season for a newly promoted team to win the title year in and year out with no mass investment, or club caliber, this would not be a fairy tale. In the 90s you had Blackburn and in the 80s you had Aston Villa who broke the monopoly but unlike the foxes they were not from the relegation. Leicester are where they were before.....the little train that won the race but is now all puffed out from trying to maintain itself at a level it is not ready for

Arriba Los Zorros Posted 20 February 2017 Posted 20 February 2017 Everyone in the top flight just sees us as relegation fodder and will continue to despite us winning the title. It's such a shame as we really had the chance to change that perception by establishing ourselves, just as Southampton have done and Everton before them starting under Moyes.
Jon the Hat Posted 20 February 2017 Posted 20 February 2017 Southampton and Everton took a lot longer than 2 seasons from promotion to stabilise. We thought there was a short cut. Perhaps there isn't. To be fair hardly anyone expected us to be at the top of the table again, but we did expect this squad could maintain just inside the top half and build from there.
EGBFitness Posted 20 February 2017 Posted 20 February 2017 **** off. Its amazing how were little old leicester that are back to where we belong but everyone instantly puts the likes of Southampton as a solid top 10 side when they were down in League One the same as us. Haven't they been back in prem 2 seasons more than us? Yes the likes of Portsmouth, Blackpool, Wigan are now back down into the lower leagues after a few good years in the premier league but they were there purely by overspending. If you have a solid foundation, invest wisely and havr abit of ambition there is no reason why teams cant challenge atleast the top 4/6 more.

Yes of course we did, they won the flipping league! It's not asking to much for a team that won the league to finish top 10 season after. Plus, likes of Saints manage to keep on coming back despite being repeatedly pillaged for their best players and manager year after year. They spend wisely, something that we have shown we are incapable of without Steve Walsh at least.
