dw1 Posted 25 March 2017 Posted 25 March 2017 Can anyone give me a valuation on a programme from the FA cup 6th round, 2nd replay 1954, against Preston North End at Hillsbrough. What is unusual is the kick-off time of 2.30pm on a Monday afternoon. The programme is just one sheet, see photo.

In the era before penalty shootouts, FA Cup replays would normally take place on the Wednesday midweek following the original tie. If a second replay was required, it would take place the following Monday (with third replays on the following Thursday if necessary). The kick off time reflects the pre-floodlit era and the need to conclude the game, including extra time if necessary, while there was still sufficient light. Hope that is of interest.
