Bossman Blessed It Posted 16 April 2017 Posted 16 April 2017 Schmeichel - 6.5 - Had virtually no chance for the second and looked slightly wrong-footed for the first. Distribution was a little thoughtless at times - didn't do much wrong though. Simpson - 6.5 - Not incredible, looked pretty shattered but in fairness he had some of the quickest and strongest players in the league bombing down his side for the entire game. Made a few good interceptions. Benny - 7.5 - Starting to love him. He manages to play with such calm yet still maintain the face of a serial killer. It's great to have another defender who's not afraid to use his physicality as it really plays to our strengths. Was incredibly hard done by for their second goal - Leo got punished for every single one of those yet Benteke got away with it. Huth - 9 - Going to miss him desperately on Tuesday. The mountain is showing no signs of age. Fuchs - 6.5 - Also had a bit of a rough game. His positioning is exceptional and didn't look out of place at CB, but unlike Huth, it does look like tiredness kicked in quite early on. Mahrez - 6 - Nullified effectively by Palace - offered very little and looked slightly disinterested. Albrighton - 6.5 - Would have got a 9.5 for his off the ball work. His crossing was absolutely dire at times; but he's such a valuable member of our team. King - 6 - Vanilla ice cream without a flake. Ndidi - 8 - Very effective and dug in when we really needed him to. Showed great intelligence to drop off when he did too. Ulloa - 7 - Some great link up and a few really useful flick ons, given how little game time he's had he still looked fit and the ball stuck to him at times. He was clearly earmarked by the ref, who gave him absolutely zero benefit of the doubt, but he made himself a complete nuisance and against a worse team could easily have created something of substance. Was good to see his desire is still there. Vardy - 8 - Classic. His strike rate is fantastic. Had one chance that he created for himself and buried it ruthlessly. Only wish the balls over to him were better.
Monsell1976 Posted 16 April 2017 Posted 16 April 2017 Forgot king played until I did ratings, most inaffective performance by a city player for a while. Huth man of the match by a mile for me.
Sionnach gorm Posted 17 April 2017 Posted 17 April 2017 I agree that Ndidi is an improving player, but he's made some basic mistakes that I hadn't seen before. One of the goals can be clearly attributed to him. The ball crossed his path a he just took a swing at it (those are balls you trap first). I have noticed that the overall confidence of this team increasing since Ranieri's removal. That being said, there are serious "fundamentals" mistakes that were uncommon before. The coaches better get off their arses and nip this in the bud. This seems to be an ever increasing problem in the last three games I've seen.

I don't think he was helped by King, mind. Huth was man of the match but Vardy and Albrighton worked their socks off.
Fox92 Posted 17 April 2017 Posted 17 April 2017 Kasper 7 Simpson 7 Benny 7 Huth 8 - MOTM Fuchs 7 Mahrez 7 King 6 N'Didi 6 Albrighton 7 Vardy 8 Ulloa 7 Palace 3 - All they do is bang it long to Benteke Dean 3 Shakespeare 6 - Thought the first sub was a bit rushed
LFEFox23 Posted 17 April 2017 Posted 17 April 2017 The game passed King by again!! Just not good enough for this level.
Guest MattP Posted 17 April 2017 Posted 17 April 2017 Schmeichel - 6 - Didn't do much wrong, kicking a bit off at times. Simpson - 6 - Looked very tired, did the basics well though against tough wingers. Benny - 7- Excellent apart from the goal where he has to be stronger, shame he's clearly not fully fit as boy do we need him now and for long periods. Huth - 9 - Monster, best player on the pitch, scored and handled Benteke with ease at times. Fuchs - 6 - Did he job well but another he looked very tired come the end of the match. Mahrez - 6 - At times he looked back on it but still not working as hard as he should, magical ball for the goal. Albrighton - 6 - Worked extremely hard and took the pressure of us a lot of the time, another who looked very tired come the end. King - 4 - Barely noticed him, offers very little and is so limited at this level it's ridiculous. Ndidi - 5 - A few good interceptions but gave the ball away far too much and the attempted clearance for the first goal was Sunday morning stuff. Ulloa - 6 - He tried hard but nothing really came off, harshly dealt with by the referee when you look at the goal at the other end. Vardy - 8 - Brilliant goal and was our only real threat on the pitch, the jink past Schulpp was absolutely beatiful. Shakey - 5 - Baffled by the team selection to be honest, we are as good as safe and we've flogged our players three days before the most important match in our history, as ours were falling down with cramp and going off injured Griezmann had his feet up - I think we need to get it done in 90 minutes on Tuesday as Extra Time will surely be too far.

Completely agree on Shakey (others too I might add). I too didn't understand why he had this selection. I suspect that experience may play a part in this. Yet we can still hope.
