How did that goal end it?  If we had got a 0-0 there (which may or may not have happened), then 1-1 at home would have seen them through anyway.

We'd have only needed 1 goal though, changes the tie completely. 1-0 sees us to penalties.

Regarding next years squad worries I think we can survive life without Riyad, but seriously hope the owners/powers that be are doing everything possible to keep Kasper here though.

Well again that backs up my point, no-one knows if that penalty wasn't given what the score would have been, if it wasn't given and say we did draw 0-0 who knows what might have happened in the 2nd leg?, Madrid could have come out and blown us away, so stating that that decision is the reason we're out is ludicrous.
