My fave game - March 1982 vs Shrewsbury Town, FA Cup quarter final

Leicester were 1-0 up against the Shrews when Chic Bates collided with Mark Wallington. Wallington's leg was heavily bandaged up, and he lost alot of mobility and after conceding 2 goals, Wally was subbed. He hadn't missed a minutes play for years and as he limped off, we put Alan Young (our six foot striker) in goal.

During the second half, Young was barged whilst in mid-air and fell awkwardly. Off he went (we only had 1 sub in those days I think!) and Steve Lynex (shortest player on the park) went between the sticks.

About 20 mins later, Young came back on, and we finished the game 5-2 winners, with Lynex crossing the ball for Jim Melrose to nod in the winner just after being swapped in goal.

A REAL rollercoaster of a game, a real epic battle. And I was there!

I've read a lot about that game...sounded like an absolutely unreal experience!! I envy you!!

I remember that game i was in the kop great game, i also think the come back against Leeds at Filbert Street also ranks as a great game 3-1 down and won 4-3 Paul Ramsey scoring the winner i think, memory not that good.

the best game i have ever seen Leicester play in my self is when we beat Charlton 2-1 i have not been to many matchs in my life but when i went to that one there was just something about Leicester they did nothing wrong and i think that will be my favorite match of all time for the rest of my life

I'd have to say Derby away when we killed them 4-0. Game Over after 15ish minutes.

My Dad's favorite has to be an error LCFC beating Man City 8-4 at Filbo in the 60's. I don't think anybody will ever see the like again. (Hopefully by saying that it may happen at the weekend.)

As I live in Sweden I've only seen Leicester once in my life as well... But it was sure long time ago.

1984 against my local team Boo FF, a swedish fourth division team in a suburb to Stockholm.

I was only eight years old, but I remember that John O'Neil played (maybe David Pleat as well, hmm?), and I think I got a couple of autographs of the players.

SInce then I've been into Leicester, from time to time not so into it, but lately more and more.

I really want to go there soon to watch a REAL game on Walkers Stadium.

That was it. THE moment when it was as good as it was ever gonna get. Probably the only time we've scored 5 goals in a league game since Brian Little - 5 goals once in 10 years!!!!!

I stand to be corrected.

My list would also include:

City 3 Swindon 2 - three in the last ten mins to win.

City 5 Cambridge 0 - fantastic atmosphere, Filbo at its best.

City 1 Newcastle 3 - our Prem debut.

City 2 Palace 1 - obvious

City 2 Derby 1 - ditto

City 2 Norwich 0 - my first City game :)

I think Alan Smith was in the game as well, is there by any chance some old stats somewhere over a bloody friendly game against a swedish shit team in 1984? I'd love to se it in case it exists... :)

28 Reading A (7.45pm kick-off)

31 Norwich H

January

2 Crystal Palace A
