As you will remember, back in the 80's what with all the hooliganism around, we didn't half have to run the gauntlet sometimes, trying to get home. We were constantly in the line of fire around Nelson Mandela park! It wasn't a perfect world of course, things seemed a little every which way but loose. On the footballing side I remember the sudden impact that the signing of Alan Young had under Jock Wallace, who seemed to hold absolute power over the players. In '82 we were walking that tightrope, trying to balance that FA cup run with a run at promotion, but alas we came up short. If he club had had a few dollars more, we might have succeeded in both competitions.

 

What's that you say? Clint Eastwood? Never heard of him..
