Can you provide a service or recommend anyone who can, for a charity event

I've got a charity T20 cricket match planned for Sunday 22nd July 2018 in Coalville and I am on the lookout for a couple of people who can provide services.

A mobile food fan of some description. Burger Van, Pizza Van, Jacket Potatoes, all considered. Must be willing to donate a percentage of their takings to the charity, looking at 100+ spectators on the day

A Photographer who can capture all the action and provide us with the photos to sell to the players/spectators. Or even better, can print the photos at the event. Must be willing to donate a percentage of their takings to the charity

A Videographer who can record the match and make it available for purchase at some stage following the match. Must be willing to donate a percentage of their takings to the charity

Please reply here or contact me directly at [email protected]

Thanks in advance

Hi michael

any chance you can let us know what charity its in aid of?

This is TBC by the club. I completely understand any reluctance of people to support without knowing the chosen charity.

I think you are being a tad naive if you think a videographer can capture a cricket match on their own.  If my team was asked to produce a job like this, £2000 minimum fee. Like most creative industries our work is expected to be done for free with little to no consideration on how much time it takes to plan and produce. Think about the cost of kit, 3 minimum trainee camera persons, assistant and the hours upon hours it takes to edit. Just not viable tbh. Sorry if it comes across as harsh or I'm being an arse just really annoying how many requests to do our work for free just because of "its charity". Just checked this year's event raised £350,  I think its best to reign in some of your ideas and focus your efforts on getting more established. If you do go ahead with a videographer don't waste time with DVD's, upload it and make it a pay what you want to download.

Why not get in touch with local colleges/universities regarding the photographers?

Most of them are finished for the summer, there are also child protection/safeguarding issues to consider, colleges just won't want to know as it's not worth the risk for them. There's plenty of casual photographers who might be willing to help, Focus on NW Leicester groups on FB if you want volunteers.

Who said anything about doing it for free? If you check my OP you will see I said "Must be willing to donate a percentage of their takings to the charity". I have no intention of anyone doing anything for free.

Why do you need three minimum trainee camera persons? A recent practice match in Australia played between the Cricket Australia XI and England was captured and broadcast live on Facebook with primarily once camera behind one of the bowlers ends. Also, why do you need to edit it? As long as all 40 overs is captured, that's all I am bothered about.

You suggest I need to reign in my ideas, I suggest you check what is actually required before you go over the top.

Then why do you need a videographer then? Just get your 3210 out and show it on Facebook. Clearly, you don't understand what you are asking for yourself. You either want it done properly or you don't.  You say there will be 100+ people there but you want it burning on to dvd, well if it's being produced for even 100 copies of a dvd, its going to need editing unless you sell it them as 1 shot for the duration of the game. So then think about how much you would charge for a dvd of a 1 shot cricket match, now you see why a dvd would be totally unviable.  But like you say as long as 40 overs are captured that's all you're bothered about.

Are you making this up as you go along? Can you show me the part that says I wanted it burning onto a DVD after the game? All I am asking for is someone to bring a camera that is capable of recording a game of cricket and doing just that. At some stage after the game, whether that be 5 minutes after the game or 5 weeks after the game, copies of the recording will be made available to purchase. It's really quite simple. It's clear you have a background in this and I know how expensive this is hence the reason why I am trimming it down to its absolute basics to reduce the costs involved.
