The difference back then was that England had time to acclimatise whereas this time England flew into Mexico City only a couple of days before and played a team that had played every game at that stadium. I don't think Spain have been particularly impressive. It feels very similar to the last Euros to me where there were 3/4 teams playing well but always one team a huge step above the rest.
