MC Prussian Posted 15 October 2005 Posted 15 October 2005 Unfortunately, England has hardly ever been a tournament superpower. Remember 1986? 1990? 1994? 1998? 2002? They are capable, but the question is: Will you see a team on the pitch or just a bunch of overpaid egos? Holland and the Czech Republic (I consider them as qualified vs. Norway) are very dangerous and European favourites in my eyes. Then there is Argentina, Brazil, France, Portugal...

MC Prussian Posted 16 October 2005 Posted 16 October 2005 what you onabout you terd, we came 4th in 1990 won it in 1966 and finished semis in 1996 Familiar with the term "hardly ever"? Read posts more carefully. Thank you. And 1966 is 40 years back. Still living in the past?
Gamesmaster Posted 19 October 2005 Posted 19 October 2005 Familiar with the term "hardly ever"? i hear ya. why did you feel the need to say Unfortunately, England has hardly ever been a tournament superpower?
Bert Posted 19 October 2005 Posted 19 October 2005 I think if we play to our potential we can make semis, i cant see us winning but this is our best chance in years! i think the key is playing 3 centre backs, with A. Cole and G.Neville as wingbacks.
