Powerline adapters

Recommended Posts

I've got 2 (broadband)  powerline adapters I got from talktalk a few years ago when I got youview. I don't know what mbps they are and it doesn't say on them. Can I buy 2 more from Amazon? Are there some that won't be compatible?

As long as they are paired together I see no reason why any 2 adaptors wouldn't work.

I meant 2 new ones plus the 2 I've already got? sorry for not being clear.

I see. I think they need to be of the same specification (though not the same speed) to communicate with each other. Try to buy the same brand that you have already.

It's talktalk's own brand. The ones I'm thinking of buying are off Amazon.

Do you mean so that you can set up an internet connection in a different room? I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. As long as the two sockets you are going to put them in aren’t on different circuits.

Edit: After a quick look you would only need one adapter. The original adapter connected to the router will supply every other adapter.
