Are they misunderstood? Is it really their fault they are unable to do anything themselves? Does the money go to their heads, or does the money mean they miss out on key life skills? Or is them being completely useless at anything other than football just a myth?

Me, well I don’t think it’s their fault. They are pampered to death from the moment they walk into a club. They get someone sort houses for them, they then get someone to sort the furniture. They get people hang around them to sort their cars and clothes, they basically don’t have to do anything.

The ones I have known have tended to be absolute diamonds. Lovely lads, but you can always have a laugh at some of the stuff they either don’t know, or can’t do.

Footballers not to blame, money isn’t to blame, it’s football and those that feed off them that is.

Thoughts?

I dunno. It's a huge generalization to label them all in the same boat.

It comes down to what sort of personality a player has I guess. Some are more grounded than others, whilst some end up being "in the bubble" and detached from the "real" world maybe

Fans and players are as far apart as ever, generally speaking.

You're right. They're pampered. They get everything and anything they want and sometimes without even asking for it.

I was thinking along similar lines yesterday, for instance when the lads fly up to an away game. I'll bet they have wifi on the plane. For a 40 minute flight. It's ridiculous. Especially at our club, there's one of the close protection guys (don't get me wrong I'm almost certain he loves it) but I know for a fact that when some of the players turn up this bloke greets them and parks their car for them whilst they walk in.

This is less football related and it really annoys me, and I know it's marketing and PR etc, but I can't stand seeing companies such as EA giving these mega rich people free copies of games, consoles etc.

The money in football all is a massive part of the blame for me.

If i could have people sorting every aspect of life out i couldnt be bothered with then i wouldnt be complaining.

If it comes to a point where after football id have a big life skill void it would be an issue but im never going to live that life so i dont care.
