We were all on a crest of a wave and quite rightly so, and Henderson had had a good tournament.

But amidst all the euphoria, how the Hell were we going to win that game when we just weren’t keeping the ball?

My guess is that we were told to bypass the Croatian midfield (for obvious reasons) and to exploit Raheem’s pace. But looking at passing like this, the truth is that Kane (who looked fooked anyway) and Sterling never had a chance.

At least if we were going to play this way, get Vardy on and have him running in behind.

Effort and team spirit get you so far. It’s quality that ultimately shines through and I’m afraid we didn’t show enough of it.
