How to value players

yes yes, we all know, football is fvcked, $$$$ greed etc.

 

But, arent we all a bit tired of complaining about how much someone costs, well we need to review our opinions and this easy calculation can be done at home with just a box of matches and a tube of glue...

 

If you are born between 2000 and now, off you go, the price is what it is.

 

if born between 1985 and 2000 , just take 1 zero from the total price quoted eg. Ronaldo only cost $10 million or that goal keeper will cost us $1.2 Million (Alan Shearer $15 Million in 1996)

 

If born between 1960 and 1985  remove two zeros. Madderz only cost $210,000 and we sold Mahrez for $600,000 (Keegan $500,000 in 1977)

 

Born before 1960...what are you doing on the internet?... and lets be honest you probably think the players should be owned by the clubs and not allowed to move at all and think themselves lucky they are getting the 5 quid a week. 

 

Point being... its just bullshit, money and value is all relative.

 

We as fans really dont need to care how much, or judge based on cost... just watch them play, and enjoy or complain about how good or bad they are, not how much they cost.

For me, I value a player on the club. A player is worth whatever he's worth to the club.

The extortion doesn't bother me as much. It's an industry absolutely loaded with money. I just don't like paying more than a player is worth. You won't progress if you do. It's as simple as that.
