This was much, much better than what I expected

How To Be A Footballer by Peter Crouch (he's got a sequel out which I haven't read yet)

I'm Still Standing by Fabrice Muamba

Non football but fascinating well written true crime > Killing Goldfinger: The Secret, Bullet-Riddled Life and Death of Britain's Gangster Number One

The sequel is just as good as the first - aptly named I, Robot. Both of Crouch's books are good easy reads.

My other shout would be 'The Nowhere Men' which gives pretty detailed accounts of the activity and movement of youth scouts around the early discovery and acquisition of the likes of Raheem Sterling and Jack Whilshere. Really interesting rad.
