Or... maybe you're just looking at the league table and seeing who's top! I'm surprised you didn't say Ipswich, seeing as they're now top. Or is it based on who's spent the most money on their squad? I think Wigan have been buying potentially good (but untested) players, improving as a team steadily for a while now, and in Paul Jewell they have a pretty good manager (allbeit one who failed dismally at Sheff Wed). And that's all great. Hooray for Wigan! But TEN TIMES BETTER??? :wacko: :wacko: :wacko: :wacko: :wacko: Don't be ridiculous! Wigan might make the play offs. We still might get automatic promotion, even now.

Ric Flair Posted 13 September 2004 Posted 13 September 2004 I watched Wigan's highlights against Wolves and they did look quite good. But, they played alot of long balls up to their front two just like we do, but obviously Ellington and Roberts are on the same wavelength and use this to their advantage. Looking man for man at their team it's not any better than ours. We have a better goalie, we should have a better defence considering we have Dabizas and Keown. Our central midfield is as good as theirs on paper, Gareth Williams is highly rated before he came to us as is Jimmy Bullard for them. Nalis looks no worse than Frandsen, infact Nalis is looking shit hot. Harper has got to be signed permanently so he can supply some crosses as Gary Teale is a good player. Upfront David Connolly on his day is the best striker in the league and if we get our fingers out we can match Wigan, we all said this at the start of the season. Ellington is good, but Roberts has never been prolific and Dublin will score more than him. The only thing Wigan have over us is a consistent gelled team, we just tend to have a shambles with atleast two or three players playing shit for us every game.
