Somewhere to ask questions in case someone knows the answer, particularly those not obvious by Googling.

I'll start -

1  - Who is the oldest person to have ever played in the premier league? As in now and not at the time, got to be the odd player pushing 65 now?

2 - What is the longest chain of a manager playing under another manager in the premier league? I thought of Hoddle -> Gullit -> Vialli -> Di Matteo -> Lampard . Maybe there is a longer one. Cant think of any over 2 if we dont consider player - managers.

Might go longer than that as Hoddle played also; so whatever manager he was playing under at Swindon; then whatever the situation was at Chelsea. Although thinking back now, was he player manager? Which definitely would actually make him the end point!

Decent chain that.

If you'd allow International as well, then Hoddle would have played under Venables for England. I know you said PL; but interesting nonetheless. I wonder how each influenced the next.

Interesting as well that Hoddle's first big two overseas signings in Gullit and Petrescu both went in to management. I wonder to what extent he inspired them.

I've read a lot in Hoddle that apparently his coaching is totally outstanding but his people skills were/are terrible.

Whilst he didn't make an appearance, Peter Shilton was on the bench for West Ham.

He was born in 1949

Hoddle never played for England when Venables was manager.
