jamie_trueblue Posted 9 November 2005 Posted 9 November 2005 who should be citys strikers. de vries scores goal but should have a few more to his name. hammonds only got 1 to his name for about 3 seasons. hume he will be a real goal machine once he gets a couple more to his name. dublin a waste of time evan playing him. i think we should give the young chambers a go up front so we can see what he can do in front of goal
The People's Hero Posted 9 November 2005 Posted 9 November 2005 Hume and Dublin. Maybe Hume and de Vries. Not Hammond though.
Med Posted 9 November 2005 Posted 9 November 2005 Hume/De Vries Hume/Hammond Dublin past it now... would have hammond coming on as sub to replace sylla on most occations tho..
Thracian Posted 9 November 2005 Posted 9 November 2005 I would certainly get Chambers involved now. He's scored goals all season at one level or another. He must be an improvement on what's available at present. He might link well with MDV ... the only other guy we've got who actually scores. Strikers only have one purpose fundamentally and that is getting goals. You have to choose specialists. Levein seems to appreciate that with centre-halves but doesn't apply the same principles with centre-forwards. Hume should be supporting - because he's got a record of scoring from such positions - and Hammond should be sidelined until he shows (with goals) that he has learned to do his job.

Chambers should be given 15 minutes against Bolton.

I can see Ian Hume becoming a goal machine. I think next season he will be brilliant and get loads of goals. He's had a slow start but i can see him being really special. We should play him and de Vries. Not Hammond. Hammond come on as sub.

Well im in no doubt that we should play him, but his not an out and out goal scorer he never has been, his more of a Sylvan Wiltord foward player then a Gary Linekar Striker if u get my meaning. He's the type of player you could play up front in the hole or in midfield and still get a decent performance.
willy37 Posted 9 November 2005 Posted 9 November 2005 hume and de vries! and why not play elvis on the wing, he has proved he is fast and can take players on, just cant finish. surely we will create chances with him and smith on the flanks

I agree, his best position would probably be behind the front 2 but i think that he could become a really good goal scorer. He's only 21!
