Whilst it stings to be in the top four all season bar the final week, isn't it the case that Liverpool always had games in hand on us?  Therefore the final picture only becomes apparent when the games are all played and we were in a false position.

Does that help?

No, we threw it away paper thin squad or not. One, just one fecking victory from the shambolic defeats against teams we should have beaten would have been enough.

I mean at the start of the season if you’d offered us 5th and the FA Cup we’d have taken it all day long.

However, to be where we were for so long, to come so close, it’s a little painful, again.

Still, the world has not ended yet, a new season approaches. We have to look forward to England failing in the Euro’s, some interesting transfers and then the Charity Shield. Happy days.

Who Has Won Or Will Win What.

Man City. Premiership, Will beat Chelsea in CL Final.
Man Utd. Might Win European Cup

Leicester. FA Cup

Liverpool. Nothing

Chelsea. Nothing

Spurs. Nothing

Arsenal. Nothing

Has our season been that bad.

ManC also won the League Cup. A pretty good achiement that we won the one major trophy that ManC didn't.

I think it that if we had started the season poorly and then rallied like West Ham with a strong finish to get into Europe we would be feeling so much better this morning although the end result is similar.

I think the first 11 when fit should be playing Champions League football but unfortunately the squad is not at that level. Having said that I cannot remember a season like it with injuries particularly in defence. We will be labelled as bottlers but I think it is harsh this year as we have so many games with major injuries. It has still been a really good season.

Yes, it was the injuries that have undone us.

The team that finished the season wasn't good enough to get over the line and that is nobody's fault, just dumb luck.  I mean, Evans out seriously weakens the defence, with the knock on effect of losing Castagne to cover and having Albrighton as wing back, Barnes' and Justin's absence loses our whole left side, Maddison out of form and likely still injured, the same for Ricardo, Vardy not the same since his injury, it is little wonder the team we could muster wasn't up to the task.  Really, it's not a good enough side to win the cup final but we did :)
