Liverpool tomorrow - away pubs?

Hi all,

 

just hoping for some advice on pubs as Liverpool is new to me.

 

where will people be drinking before/after the game?

The Arkles is normally where most will go close to Anfield, but it gets very busy and will get even busier than normal given we have such a large away following. Plenty of decent pubs in the city obviously, but be wary of leaving the trip to Anfield too close to kick off as the roads become ridiculous and taxis etc are impossible.

They used to have a fans zone across the road from the away end

 

Though this was 6 years ago and not in a pandemic

Especially with the predicted COVID checking queues, if they happen.

Almost certainly closed for the building work on the anfield road stand
