Hi all,

I had some involvement with this short film. It was written by Phil Pearson - a talented Manchester based writer.

It has just finished its film festival run and was selected for ten film festivals and was shown in Los Angeles, Florence, London and Manchester. It also managed to pick up some awards along the way

I wanted to share it here, not just the usual places for an independent short film. We're quite proud of it. Hope you might like it!

It's just under 7m long.

Thank's for posting.Resonates with me as i lost my dad last year and he was a big Sinatra fan.:)

Thank you for watching. I'll let the writer know as it is a very autobiographical piece of writing and that will mean a lot to him. Thanks again.

Excellent work. A nice snapshot of humanity with all its passing joys, bonds, oddities and cruelties.

As a young boy (late 60s/early 70s), I used to love playing my parents' old records. My Dad had that "Songs for Swingin' lovers!" Sinatra album (exact same cover), though I preferred his Dubliners, McCormack, Edith Piaf & Greek folk records, plus my Mum's Little Richard, Cilla Black & African Highlife.

My Dad kept his hair till late in life, but maybe his height was his little vanity/vulnerability as my Mum always used to insist that he was "medium height", despite him being under 5ft6. At secondary school in the 70s, we had a teacher with a very obvious hairpiece - universally known as Wiggy Morris - nice, if cheesy bloke who was very tolerant of me cracking stupid jokes in his Maths class. Time. eh?

Thank you very much! Glad the film spoke to you and stoked some related memories. Time indeed! I have found that the time between 35 and 50 seems to have gone by especially fast! Blessed to have it though as have school friends - close ones - that are no longer around.

Yep, time speeds up - and the bad news is that, in my experience, 50-59 goes even quicker than 35-50. Though I have a theory that if you can find lots of interesting new things to do, it slows down again. :D

I inherited most of my parents' records when they died a few years back so just went to check - and I've still got that Sinatra record. Might have to play it in my Dad's honour some time.

We wanted to use 'Summer Wind' as part of the soundtrack to the film, but it complicates things getting the rights and we didn't want YouTube to take the sound off so had an original composition done.

I inherited my parents record collection. I carried it from flat to flat until I finally got a radiogram and played some of them. It was very powerful handling their vinyl and the listening to it. I'd heard the songs before on digital, but the material experience was something else!

Our dads, if they were good ones, live on in our hearts.
