How many people will remember who played centre midfield for Arsenal, despite them finishing 4th for years?!?

…yes he got us the FA cup but so what , it’s treated with ridicule by most top 8 clubs these days - progressing in Europe and the PL are what counts for the long term success of the club.

Sorry but I find this attitude absolutely abhorrent and a sign of the damage the money and domination of the so called elite clubs has done to the game. It’s not just you, we were being mocked last season for having the gall to prioritise the FA Cup over Champions League qualification. 
 

The FA Cup is the oldest and one of the most prestigious and respected competitions in the world. The so called elite clubs only sneer at it because they’ve spent millions on squads to dominate every single competition. Their fans expect a trophy every season because they’ve become accustomed and entitled to it.
 

That’s why our title win and FA Cup win was so ****ing special. We actually appreciate them because we never expected or even demanded it.

 

People can complain about our form and that’s fine. But to dismiss his achievements when he’s one of only 4 manages to win a major domestic trophy in our history is genuinely pathetic.
