Okay good, another "Seagrave's to blame" thread.

We went through this when the stadium was built too.

Man City, Liverpool and several other clubs all have similar top class facilities. None of them suffered a downturn in fortunes, reduced camaraderie in the squad or even - God forbid - relegation because their facilities improved.

Of course things are further apart, it's a bigger complex but you only have to look at insta vids the likes of Maddison, Ricky P, Fofana, Choudhury and others have posted to see that physio, recovery room, gyms etc are all still fairly compact and the players still have a bit of banter with each other whilst in there.

The W/L record before and after Seagrave is utterly irrelevant, it doesn't give any connection to the complex being responsible for it, other than it's existence. The facilities inside - pools, spas all the rest of it don't effect the training the players do on the pitch. Doing a few lengths in the pool doesn't stop you getting up to head a ball away at a corner or closing down a shot or a cross. IF it's responsible for injuries, due to harder pitches or softer pitches etc then thats down to our "Turf Academy" to resolve with the medics.

The very worst thing when we go through bad spells like this, is how people go looking for excuses and things to blame. Yes it was expensive, it's state of the art but the money for Seagrave wouldn't have been spent on new players. The Thais have banged on about this for years - they are not going to keep chucking (more) money at players, they want us to bring through more Chilwells and Barnes and Thomas's. I think it was part of Top's speech in the programme too. Not sure how much energy it uses but if it's like most modern buildings it's full of sky lights and creative roofing to let natural light in and cut down on lighting costs. Plus you'll very rarely need lighting on the pitches or elsewhere as most training sessions are in the morning/daytime.

Of all the things to blame, it's just not an issue.

Off the back of this thread, I dug my drone out and flew it over Seagrave. Look at em!!!! LOOK AT EM!!

Prancing around on top of the indoor pitch, staring at my drone. Do they even actually train??

I really think fitness has been an issue for quite a while since Brendan has been here, we’ve always seemed to tire after 60 minutes and then there’s the injuries, I always thought it was Brendan overtraining them, but maybe it’s undertraining. Last season Tielemens had gained a fair bit of weight
