That is the most disappointing thing.

(2016) Won the league? Perfect opportunity to invest HEAVILY in the right players to stay up there. Instead we got Musa who couldn't even trap a ball, donkey Slimani, Zieler and Kapustka.

(2017) We couldn't find a better manager than Claude fcking Puel. Really?

(2019) Praet and Perez absolute wastes of money.

(2021) Bertrand, Vestergaard, Soumare and Daka cost a combined £50m+. Rodgers has ****ed a comfortable top 4 position twice. Should have been sacked at this point by any board with ambition.

(2022) Rodgers deliberately sabotages the club in the opening game of the season by making only one sub to Brentfords five to publically make a point about lack of transfer activity and blames tiredness for throwing away a 2 goal lead. Would have been sacked by ANY other club for this act.

(2023) Souttar, Kristiansen and Faes are awful signings. Rodgers continues to blame the squad. Top pulls the trigger far far too late.

Top, Rudkin and Whelan are ultimately responsible for squandering an unprecedented advantage we were fortunate to have in 2016 by winning the title. None of them are competent football people.

Pearson, Ranieri, Walsh and dare I say it, Rodgers. They were proper people who understood what it takes to run a competent club. Rodgers is a **** and had the tools to do better but he knew the signings weren't good enough over recent years. He was wrong to publically absolve himself of blame and petulantly sabotage the team but he only did that because he was allowed to get away with it.

If we had ANY competence at board level we would not be in this situation now. If Top doesn't sack Rudkin he might as well **** off and sell the club because we will not be making it out of the Championship.

There's an important differentiation that I think we need to make, because some people confuse the two as one and the same.

We 100% deserve to go down. And this isn't 'where we belong', as so many deluded larger fanbases often carp on about. Nobody has a God-given right to be in the top tier, and anyone who tries to claim otherwise is deluded. However, we shouldn't be in this situation. The title of this thread sums it up. We're pissing away our Premier League status through criminal incompetence, from board to tactics to mentality and application. Not because the group of players on the turf - most of whom were here when we were finishing fifth and winning silverware - isn't good enough to outdo the likes of fodder like Southampton, Leeds and Everton.

I'm at peace with it now, even if I'm currently embarrassed to admit I'm a Leicester fan. We're the laughing stock of the league, which is hard to do with Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea all making good cases of their own.

In a perverse way I'm looking forward to the inevitable if it means a huge summer clearout at all levels. I don't want to see a large number of those player in Blue and White again.

Going into a season with a third of the playing squad out of contract at the end of the season and just one new signing was a recipe for disaster from the start. Especially when we all knew at least a couple of those players really didn’t want to be here.

You can’t go into a season like that and expect not to struggle.

It's so depressing. This is my first post but I feel like I need to go public to try and help with the general negative mental state and stress this season has generated. Fed up of evenings and weekends impacted by this. In one way I am like others, there are so many players and board leaders I want out of my club right now and relegation opens the door to that but I am so damn angry at how my beloved club has just caved in with so much poor leadership decisions on and off the pitch leading to the falling off a cliff so quickly.

There is part of me that wants to destroy any evidence of being an LCFC fan as I am so embarrassed to be associated to them and another side that wants to get to more games next year and double down on supporting them No idea why but your team picks you right?

I can't stand the media responses to all this, they literally no nothing about this club and the spiral of the last 18 months just forming their opinions on the results.

This season has been one of the worst since I started supporting (30 odd years ago) My 12 year old lad has only really known Premier League Leicester but fair play to him, he is determined to stick with it. Just stop the pain now.
