[Death by Football]

I'd like us to hire a manager, buy a few players and ideally do reasonably well in the league.  Don't really care how the club accounts for it all in the books.  I'd like to be able to talk football for more than five minutes without having to discuss amortisation, book value, Financial Fair Play, sustainability etc.  

I'm also not fussed about what points deduction we get.  It'll be what it'll be and the team will have to deal with it.  Hopefully it galvanises them into a siege mentality and we can overcome the odds again.

It is quite sad now seeing one club suing another club or a club suing the league. Must have been amazing when football was just football, players turned up and fought for their club, and it all wasn't about money.

..and you didn't know the refs name or didn't care. After the game you went down the pub with your mates and relived the game from memory.

 

You knew pretty much that a home game was followed by nan away game and played on Saturday at 3pm except for cup replays.

Running down to Dixon's on gallowtree gate after the game to catch the goals on central sports at about 515 in the TVs in the window as it was likely the only chance you'd get to see them replayed.
