Rescue Me

Yeah, as it seems, the "Lost" euphory is sort of over, the second season rather disappointing and the initial thrill gone. TV has become boring again... or has it?

Just recently I was recommended another classy series through a classmate of mine and it is called "Rescue Me".

It's about a bunch of NYFD firefighters, created by Boston comedian Denis Leary, who also plays Tommy Gavin, the lead character, a rather troubled family father who has to deal with his working mates, adolescents, love interests and his tough job, among many others. And above all, he can see dead people, with his old buddy Jimmy Keefe (James McGaffrey), who is also dead, showing up on a regular basis.

This series is quality and highly regarded in the States. It is funny, but maintains a very realistic approach to what life can be like. The dialogue is top-notch and the characters very believable.

Has anybody else seen it, too?

Sounds shit.

Lost was beyond shit. Words haven't been invented to describe how shit it is.

I don't know what's happened to you, my dear Hero. But just like many others on this board, your comments have generally become very cynical and almost insulting. Probably has something to do with LCFC current league position. I think certain people on here influence others with their blatant negativity...

Even if it should sound crap, it's not. "Rescue Me" is a great series with great plots in every episode. Worth watching.;) And the cast is awesome, especially the female parts...

- Jealous husbands

- Drunken and/or horny widows

- The Catholic Church

- NYFD Pin-Up calendar

- 9/11 support groups

- Poor Poetry

If it's Dennis Leary it's going to have plenty of things like that in it!!! infact they are probably the only ones you can put on a msg board!!

I think it sounds alright Swiss although I don't think it's made it over to the uk yet, as for lost can't comment as I have never been inclined to watch it

That's my opinion of it. If you want to label me as a cynic because I don't like things which you like, that's up to you.

I find it hard to judge people from written comments only. That's way too difficult and every single analysis would fail to give a complete picture.

Please don't feel offended. I wasn't talking about your character, Hero, but the style of your comments. I find it rather illogical to talk about topics that one knows nothing or hardly anything about. You yourself write that you haven't seen "Rescue Me" personally. So why not giving it a try? And THEN judge its quality. It's hard to tell what it is exactly, but the same happened to me when I posted about that post-9/11-DVD and a lot of you guys were ridiculing me. It took a while until some people realized that there was indeed some meat to the bone.

And I don't label people (wtf??) and I very certainly do not force others to be on "my" side. All I do is asking for various opinions on whatever subject.

Do you understand what I mean?

C'mon.

*offers a handshake* ;)
