My views don’t really change on it all really. A year ago I warned the Trust that by agreeing to the FEF and be being part of the FAB they give it credibility and become part of the clubs experiment. The same goes for other fan groups. And so it continues basically.

Back then the club rushed the finalising of it all through purely because the FSA (another pretty useless ego led organisation) said they would use the club as “best practice” to showcase to others. That tickled Anthony’s balls and is now the driver of anything to do with Fan Engagement. As we can see.

It’s CV/ego driven when it should be organic and fan driven.

To see how much the club care about FE all you have to do is look at our last EFL Family Excellence report which the club received a silver award, scandalous for a club our size. That is an independent mystery shop style investigation which looks at touch points from the point of enquiry to leaving the stadium for families / new supporters. The way it is built means that you can’t blag it as it also looks at culture, behaviours and long term strategy. I highlighted this to the Trust who were due to investigate it but I’m not sure they ever did or had time to. This is the real FE, the raw, no BS and where a fan base is actually built for the future. It’s graft, hard work and requires a vision. We as a club are failing here and it should be a concern for us all.

The latest load of nonsense is this story from the website is utter word soup. Based on what I know from these type of people, it’s not written for fans, it’s written for peers as the club look to be a shining light in the world of FE at a time they are clearly failing miserably. It’s probably all over their LinkedIn pages for validation. The club are simply inventing new things we don’t need and steamrollering them rather than addressing all the problems they currently have. It’s a tactical play which creates noise and distraction away from all that is wrong. Again, this isn’t FE, despite the “you said we did” BS they are pumping out.

Ultimately the club are looking to control all things to do with supporters and to force them into their way of working, crudely labelling it Fan Engagement.

With this and the other comms that went out yesterday I did smile/ sigh. That was another tactical move by the club.

The fan groups have helped create this nonsensical FEF and by being part of it are, in my opinion, feeding the beast. They all wanted to be “at the table”, which when you look a year down the line, it has done nothing but meant the club can shake their hands above the table while aggressively kicking them under it.

We have the FT and UFS sitting on the FAB giving it credibility while behind the scenes and publicly I guess, they continue to fight (and lose) the club about the very, very basics. The club must be pissing themselves TBH.

This is just my opinion but to me, it makes no sense and now starts to become embarrassing for both those parties. A year down the line there is zero progress on anything FE or supporter lead just more problems.

The club do not listen or care, the commercial decisions within still mean our kids and our young players can’t wear replica shirts as we continue to promote dodgy gambling businesses, supporters are getting banned for having a pulse and the appeals process is engineered to punish the supporters, surveys show supporters are not enjoying their relationship with the club yet people still want to be part of this FEF b0llocks? Why?

For me I now start to question whether those on the FAB and on those panels are there for the right reasons. Are they being true to the groups they represent and what those groups are about, why they were set up in the first place etc, or is it a case of them all having their ego stroked. As time goes on and no change happens (or as it is, things get worse) that can only lead to the latter. I’ve seen it before many times.

To conclude. Fan Groups, representatives of them all should walk away from all things to do with the FEF and FAB rather than becoming part of the problem they will inevitably continue to fight. The club need them for validation but are giving absolutely zero back. You are all being mugged off unfortunately. Walk away.

🦊👊

We want better communication and engagement between the club and fan groups. This new development says "if you're a fan group, please get in touch and we'll link up with you"

What's the problem? What am I missing here?
