Rewind 21 years to the day. 

 

Micky Adams had recently been sacked after a tricky start to the Championship campaign following relegation. We currently have Dave Bassett in as caretaker. 

 

Next week we are about to appoint Craig Levien as new manager who guides us to finish 15th. 

 

Our top goal scorer is David Connolly with 13 goals that season. 

 

Foxestalk has recently been born and some of the early topics sound very familiar to todays!

 

Poster Guest Bryan with one of the first topics in the summer of 2004 (didn't @Marklose some topics after accidentally deleting them??) is after loans and frees:

 

"Who can we buy for free? Since we haven't got any money who are we gonna buy players? Since when did all the press think we have got money to spend? But on the other hand we could loan about 3 players. They would have to be players who are experienced, not too old (under 30yrs old) and not getting a game at their clubs. We need Partridge, Connolly and how about bringing back Charlie Miller. We could sneek in with a last minute bid to bring him back."

 

@glen31 is worried about the campaign:

 

"anyone else here think we may struggle next season"

 

@Sparkyreplies feeling very confident after relegation:

 

"no way will we finish outside top 6 . dublin is still a good div 1 striker and if we got connolly that partnership would be devastating.. keep the faith micky knows what he is doing . the 1st couple of friendlys are all about fitness so i wouldnt worry which front 2 he picks"

 

@Mark isn't sure and is worried about losing Izzet

Its a well known fact we're an extremely poor side without Izzet, no one could replace him, especially with no money Playoffs if we're lucky" 

 

 

@Craig has noted the club perhaps not putting the fans first!

Going to the first page of topics makes you realise we've now completed that circle. Imagine what those posters were in for 11 years later at 180 degrees! 

 

What worries me about today is not one poster back then mentioned attitude or desire. We were just crap. 

 

It's a great read those topics from the early days if you have time.

Glen was so worried he stopped posting, logged out and never visited the site again.

 

I wish I could be a bit more like Glen sometimes.

Wow... just imagine a striker who can score 13 goals in a season - they were good days

It is so much harder to cheer International players not giving a crap
