I know as an absolute FACT, it has been used before by a player who wanted to leave Leicester City and force a move. *somehow* word got round  to potentially interested clubs this was a tactic being used, reasons were given they thought supported their stance and that said player would be fully committed and energized to play for  his next club. id be really really surprised if this was the only player to have ever done this..

I also can give one example of this and I wonder if its the same player.
