It's more than just a friendly or the context. If Martin had done even a smidge of research he'd know what Faes has done and said to this club. He's insulted the club and presided over 3 relegations. He doesn't need to be the captain of Leicester in any context. 

 

We've had 3 or 4 managers worth of 'fresh starts' and the rebuilding of trusts. How has that gone? We're doing okay right? 

 

It's more than just being a captain in a meaningless friendly and if you can't see that I can't help you anyways. You're too far gone. 

 

 

You don't have to like him or want him to play for the club again. If the manager likes him and thinks we've got a better chance of winning games with him playing if we're unable to get rid of him for an acceptable fee then he'll play him and I'm comfortable with that even if I don't like Faes myself.

Managers liking Faes, Winks, Vestegaard etc and thinking they'll get us points is WHY WE ARE IN THE SHIT.

It's not the sole reason though is it? It's giving them the contracts that we did that made them virtually unsellable and meaning that we weren't able to replace them due to the financial constraints partly in place due to them still being around. 

You can understand why someone coming in from the outside would think that picking those players would be a good idea for a club playing in the Championship. MOST other clubs in the Championship, rightly or wrongly, would have loved to have had those players. Faes, whilst I don't like him, was playing in Ligue 1 last season and relatively recently playing for Belgiums national team. Winks has just signed for a team in Serie A with a coach he previously played for at Sampdoria. Vestergaard up until relatively recently was playing for Denmark's national team. Don't like any of them, but you can also see why a manager coming into the club fresh would choose to play them.
