Nationwider Posted 13 January 2006 Share Posted 13 January 2006 City spent £300K on agents' fees in the first half of this season. This was a drop from £405,000 in the same period in the previous season. Only Leeds (£576K) and Norwich (£438K) spent more. Crewe spent £0 in the same period, by contrast. Agents were involved in 31 deals in total, 24 of which were transfers with the rest being contract negociations of one sort or another. That's around £10,000 per deal for the agent on average. It just goes to show how much these guys cream off the top, and how much as a club we still have to pay them, even though we're in the Championship. With two deals done, I bet Peter Gilbert's agent is sleeping soundly in his bed. In Barbados. <_<
Cat Burger Posted 13 January 2006 Share Posted 13 January 2006 Agents got us Stephen Hughes. They can be a necessary evil!
Gené and Tonic Posted 13 January 2006 Share Posted 13 January 2006 They shouldn't be abolished, just given a dramatic pay cut!
Bert Posted 13 January 2006 Share Posted 13 January 2006 Yes a salary cap or something like that would be very good for agents.
