FOOTBALL: KINNEAR FEAR AS MICKY NOW FREE Oct 17 2004

JOE KINNEAR is fighting to save his job at Nottingham Forest - and out of work Micky Adams is a threat to his position.

The former Leicester manager, who resigned last week, is also under consideration by the Gillingham board as they take a close look at boss Andy Hessenthaler.

Adams has a terrific reputation after the job he carried out in tough circumstances at Leicester - and now he is available that puts pressure on bosses who are struggling for success.

Kinnear's Forest beat Wolves 1-0 on Friday in a rare win, just their second in 13 League games this season. The race for Adams, who wants to get back into the game, will be a fierce one.

good on him, he is a great manager, and i'm sure he has got better after his ordeal in the past year at leicester.

No, he is not a great manager. He is a good manager with room for improvement in specific areas which eventually brought around his downfall at the club.

I still wish he could have done that improvement here but we have moved on.

Not sure however how you can say he is a great manager when not so long ago you said he was shit.

I hope he goes to Forest and does well, he can't do much worse than Joke-in-Here.

I'm not sure the Forest fans would be too happy if they got him. I'm sure Micky will be all for going there so, joining up with Impey and Rogers again :huh:

Anyway they are well known for bringing through great young talents and we all know what Micky is like towards them, that aint going to go down well.

Not just the youth issue but also the style of play. I'm sure with someone like Gareth Taylor available, it would be hoof hoof hoof all the way. ;)

Remember, Forest always play slick, intricate passing football.

No they are not. Played very well against Wolves Friday night.

I'd hate to see him go to Forest - unlike most, I think Micky has a lot of potential as a manager. To watch Forest do well would be heartbreaking.
