Thracian Posted 23 February 2006 Posted 23 February 2006 We were supposed to have little chance at QPR. Hadn't won there for 20 years. Result 3-2 to us. Brighton was its usually shitty trip with the bugs and Weso's leg..................but we won 2-1. Wolves got their snouts whacked. High-flying Leeds didn't manage to beat 10 of us and Derby were lucky to get a point. Kelly will relish another challenge like Ipswich and the idea of chasing three away wins on the trot. Nothing particular is expected but he'll have the harriers out in force and as someone remarked recently no-one can now expect an easy game aainst Leicester. Ipswich will still harbour hopes of a play-off place and will feel pressure for that reason. For us everything will be a bonus. Two-one Leicester. Who the hell should we be afraid of in this League?
Frenzied Posted 23 February 2006 Posted 23 February 2006 I think what's important is not how many games we have to win, but staying clear of the pack. Now usually to stay clear of the pack you need to win games or draw games, which we have been doing but what's good about how Rob Kelly is dealing with things is he's not allowing any of the players or himself to focus on anything other than the forthcoming game. If we lose a game, then you can be sure that Rob Kelly will be drilling in to the players the belief and confidence he has in them and if it's worked before so I would hope it would work again. There's no margin for complacency at Leicester right now and the man in charge doesn't seem capable of letting it creep in either, which is brilliant. It's normal to feel abit nervous, I didn't think we'd get anything against Derby last week for some reason but the boys proved me wrong. Ipswich is going to be a tough game, but the players seem confident enough to go and get something. Fearless. That will be the biggest test of Kelly and the team - does he have the psychological apparatus to get the players to respond positively to defeat or a poor run of results. Levein didn't. In fact in the last few years the only manager of LCFC to be able to do that on a consisitent basis was O'Neill.
ithuriel Posted 23 February 2006 Posted 23 February 2006 little did just fine when things were not going so well. shame he decided that he could take us no further or maybe more accurately he wanted the villa job.
Cobbo Posted 23 February 2006 Posted 23 February 2006 We're due a win at Portman Road. We bloody are. Get Mark Robins in on loan. And no fighting, you.
Jamesino_LCFC Posted 23 February 2006 Posted 23 February 2006 ... a very strange feeling about our predicament at the moment Yes, we have done well since RK took over, but we'll see what happens after we lose a game or 2. Looking down the fixture list, i believe we have to win 4 more games, or 3 wins and 3 draws to be safe. Hopefully, after a loss, we'd get back to winning ways, but games that we might lose, are followed by another we could lose, which could hurt confidence. I can see us losing at Portman Road on Saturday, which makes the Hull game an essential win Anyone else been feeling pesimistic going into saturday's game? Or is it just me? Errrmmm its just you mate... We'll win on Saturday and I think we will turn over Hull, which will be a great day, because.. and I can already hear the chants now... TAYLOR, WHATS THE SCORE, TAYLOR TAYLOR WHATS THE SCORE Oh my word I am really looking forward to giving him a reception then.. argh.. willy puller.
