C-man Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 ... a very strange feeling about our predicament at the moment Yes, we have done well since RK took over, but we'll see what happens after we lose a game or 2. Looking down the fixture list, i believe we have to win 4 more games, or 3 wins and 3 draws to be safe. Hopefully, after a loss, we'd get back to winning ways, but games that we might lose, are followed by another we could lose, which could hurt confidence. I can see us losing at Portman Road on Saturday, which makes the Hull game an essential win Anyone else been feeling pesimistic going into saturday's game? Or is it just me?

I think that we probably really only need a couple of wins. But I think we may well lose at Ipswich, and if we then only get a draw against Hull, it starts looking tense again.

Yes because a, we seem to always do badly and b, after the last two seasons it's become part of my nature to fear the worse re LCFC. But, I've felt that way for the last 5 games and we haven't lost plus it's more to do with how the players feel than how we feel. So
C-man Posted 22 February 2006 Author Posted 22 February 2006 No! Good!! I think after the Hull game we'll have a good idea whats going to happen though!

Maybe because Ipswich are our bogey team? I feel optimistic about Ipswich and beyond. We look likely to score in every game, especially with Hume and Fryatt forming a useful partnership. Pace, Mobility and skill - everything we lacked when de Vries was played. McCarthy being out obviously presents us with a defensive problem, but Johansson and Kisnorbo played very well against Leeds and restricted them to half chances.
filbertway Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 Ive not been this optimistic for about 2 seasons now. Kelly has us scoring and battling out results. Were gonna finish top 12

spirefox Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 Sorry to say I am similarly aprehensive, Hull are a bigger bogey than Ipswich.

lookwhaticando Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 A loss or two will make things look a little less rosy again, but if that's bothering you, just do a Rob Kelly and concentrate only on the next game
SystonFox Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 i think a 1-1 or a 0-0 draw on saturday. then smash Hull either 3-0 or 4-0! if you hate peter taylor clap your hands! CLAP CLAP!
Bert Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 I'm not sure what to think about Saturdays game but i am pretty sure that we will not lose against Hull.
Anish Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 I'm not very confident against Ipswich, but I definitely think we can beat Hull and then try to continue to push on from there.
teblin Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 We might lose on saturday! But we WILL beat Hull!!!!
ithuriel Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 i still think were pretty much safe now. we will win at least another couple of games from our remaining eleven where as of the bottom three perhaps only millwall might make a late surge but even then i cant see them winning more than three of their last eleven. theres always one team from the bottom three that pulls away and this time it was us , fortunately.
Jordan Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 I'm not so sure that Leicester will get by both games without a loss, but I think the bottom three are poor enough that the table won't be all that much more "interesting" if Leicester hit a bump in the road.
AyewJoking Posted 23 February 2006 Posted 23 February 2006 I think we'll do well to get something at Ipswich but I think the morale boost from Rob Kelly will be enough to keep us on an upward curve.
Hay up me duck Posted 23 February 2006 Posted 23 February 2006 All games at this stage of the season -are going to be tough - not just for us but also for our opposition. Considering holding leeds and nearly winning with ten men - regardless of leeds playing badly - we took the game to them. If we keep up this kind of form - we will always have a great chance of getting good results. Something that we could never say or feel under Levein. Ispwich will be as fearful of us - due to our run of results , they like all the play-off teams need to win as well to keep there hopes alive. Like RK states - one game at a time - keep it simple - reduce your fear and take the oppertunities that you make. I can understand our caution due to the position that we were in , but look at the positives and the difference since RK took over - is he or the team starting to sit back - no . They know to be truely out of this dog-fight is to keep getting results - we now have to believe that at every remaining game we have as good a chance as the opposition of winning - Oh what a feeling - you couldn't say that 2 months ago. C'mon - Get stuck in .
Trumpet Posted 23 February 2006 Posted 23 February 2006 Weve done wolves and qpr, why cant we do ipswich. They were very average when we played them at home, they are not anything special.
The People's Hero Posted 23 February 2006 Posted 23 February 2006 I've backed us to win, which all but scuppers our chances I'm afraid.

I can see us losing at Portman Road on Saturday, which makes the Hull game an essential win Anyone else been feeling pesimistic going into saturday's game? Or is it just me? I think what's important is not how many games we have to win, but staying clear of the pack. Now usually to stay clear of the pack you need to win games or draw games, which we have been doing but what's good about how Rob Kelly is dealing with things is he's not allowing any of the players or himself to focus on anything other than the forthcoming game. If we lose a game, then you can be sure that Rob Kelly will be drilling in to the players the belief and confidence he has in them and if it's worked before so I would hope it would work again. There's no margin for complacency at Leicester right now and the man in charge doesn't seem capable of letting it creep in either, which is brilliant. It's normal to feel abit nervous, I didn't think we'd get anything against Derby last week for some reason but the boys proved me wrong. Ipswich is going to be a tough game, but the players seem confident enough to go and get something. Fearless.
