Babylon Posted 22 March 2006 Posted 22 March 2006 I have seen lots of stuff about Steve Smith recently and all the generous people who have been helping him. I thought I would bring to light the plight of another LCFC fan called Scott Beanlands. I was in the same class at school as Scott, his decline in those short years is frightening. He was a keen footballer who was winning trophies for his clubs before he got struck down. "Scott Beanlands is suffering from a cruel debilitating illness which is attacking his nervous system. In just seven years he's gone from being an active sportsman to a 27 year old who can't walk or feed himself. Scott is hoping to travel from his home in Blaby in Leicester to Holland for pioneering treatment that could stop his body degenerating or even reverse his symptons. If he can raise the £13,000 he needs to pay for the stem cell therapy he'll be treated at a private clinic in Rotterdam this spring. Stem cell treatment for MS sufferers is not available on the NHS because it's still at an experimental stage. Scott however, says he doesn't mind being a guinea pig as he feels he has nothing to lose. Those wishing to help Scott can contact his sister Nichola Bramley on 0116 284 9397" A few more details about scott and what people have been doing to help. http://www.littleindia-arnesby.biz/homepage.htm
Babylon Posted 22 March 2006 Author Posted 22 March 2006 I'll make this thread a sticky. Cheers Ric. I believe some of his friends are trying to arrange a charity football match. I will post it on here when I know more as it's at an early stage I think.
muzzysgal Posted 2 April 2006 Posted 2 April 2006 Hiya, Strange, but true, it appears that Scott and Steve both attended the same school. On Friday 7th April, the school is raising money for Scott by having a non-uniform day. In the past these have generated quite a bit of cash, so hopefully Scott will receive a decent amount to help him on his way. I work at the school and my eldest attends it and I have to say that it really is an unlucky place. In the three years that I've worked there, three pupils have died Hopefully, when it moves to it's new building in September, the 'curse' will be lifted...
Babylon Posted 2 April 2006 Author Posted 2 April 2006 You should post this on another forum. I did but nobody took any notice.... the trust don't give a shit as it isn't one of their mates.
