davieG Posted 4 May 2006 Posted 4 May 2006 Starlet learns from hard knocks Double leg-break victim James Wesolowski believes coming through his injury nightmare will make him mentally stronger. The 18-year-old suffered the first fracture during a pre-season friendly before returning in January and suffering a similar setback during a 2-1 win at Brighton three weeks later. But Wesolowski remains philosophical and is expecting to have regained full fitness in time for the start of next season. Said the Australian: "When I first broke my leg I thought I'd be able to get back, which I did, but unfortunately I broke it again -that wasn't too good for me. "But it's been an experience which will hopefully help me out in the future." Meanwhile, midfielder Joey Gudjonsson - who will join Dutch side AZ Alkmaar during the summer - has been named player of the season and players' player of the season as well as picking up the club's award for goal of the season.
