New Muse Single

Anyone heard this? I've just heard it for the first time, it's not very 'Musey' to say the least. It's all funky and electronica with shades of Prince. I thought it was alright, apparently it's a grower, but I was expecting something more energetic etc. Can't wait for the new album.

Heard it at work, whilst going between my stereo and Machine shop, so only heard bits, from what I heard as you said its not very "Musey" but I did like it.

When is the new album released?

Awesome song and awesome band. IMO the best British band by far can't wait for the new album.

Not my favourite band but would totally agree with rest!

Got to admit my liking of Origin Of Symmetry, a wonderful album with some great little riffs (Plug in baby especially). Bliss, Citizen Erased and Micro Cuts are also amongst my favourite songs off that.

I never got into Absolution as much as that CD.

Exactly the same here. Micro Cuts is amazing, I love the vocals in it, and the bass solo ending. All the others you mentioned are great too and among my favourites by them.

Agreed on Absolution too, I like some songs off of it (Stockholm Syndrome, Hysteria, The Small Print etc) but it just seemed to be missing something the OOS had.

I find Muse a bit frustrating for two reasons (and it's only because I love them so much if that makes sense)...

a) They can't quite yet seem to translate their incredible live sound onto an album without it sounding a tad overproduced (although admittedly this does seem to improve with every album).

b) They haven't yet done an album which is truely brilliant from start to end. Despite some incredible tracks many of which are listed above they always seem to throw a bit of dross on the album for some reason (e.g Screenager - OoS and Endlessly - Absolution)

Spot on there. Darkshines is pretty lame on OOS too. Falling Away With You, Ruled By Secrecy, Blackout are all quite poor from Absolution IMO also. I think Apocalypse Please is overrated, people seem to think it's epic, but it's a bit dull to me.
