Rincewind Posted 23 May 2006 Posted 23 May 2006 I don't think they'll be appearing at the Washington DC comedy club. Quite funny though. Dispells the myth put out by the Western media that Muslims do not do comedy or laugh at themselves.
Dr The Singh Posted 23 May 2006 Posted 23 May 2006 Good to see people can laugh at themselves, even at the worst of times!! It just shows the misconceptions people may have!!!
Rincewind Posted 23 May 2006 Posted 23 May 2006 What gets me is that when there is something controversal like the cartoon thing it's outsiders that complain first. Then after the initial publicity the militants move in as 'spokesmen' Sometimes I wonder if it's not not done deliberately to cause trouble. We all know what the Daily Mail's stance is in regards to controversal issues. What I mean is, say there is a left/right wing march a few troublemakers from the other side could start smashing windows and cause damage and obviously the marchers will get the blame and bad publicity leaving the opposite side coming out with the old cliche 'I told you so'

The cartoons in Denmark were printed months before the riots happened. Most muslims in Denmark didn't care living in one of the most pleasant and tolerant nations in Europe. However, one fanatical mentalist muslim cleric who is to the right of extreme, decided this was too much and went round the middle east whipping up hysteria and anger. This then spread and hey presto, all the riots a few months after the cartoons were published. Not exactly spontaneous outpouring of anger. Not really outsiders either. However, this is now history and finished with.
Daggers Posted 23 May 2006 Posted 23 May 2006 ...to the right of extreme I'm guessing that is a long way right, right? Unless of course you're saying he was with Extreme Noise Terror and was standing on the right...hang on, I saw that online clip...that was Deathside. You're saying Deathside is a muslim cleric wandering around the world whipping up fervour? *gosh*
