Morientes Joins Valencia

Recommended Posts

for an undisclosed fee. Liverpool paid £6.8M for him in 2003 and hes scored 12 goals in 61 games. now they just need to get red of Cisse, get SWP in and another top class striker and they could definitely challenge Chelsea next season. c'mon the reds

Must go down as one of the all-time Premiership flops. He was one of the best strikers in Europe and now look at him. Good job Rafa!!

Nah, Forlan and Taibi didn't have world class reputations when they joined Man United. In fact, most people wouldn't have heard of them before their moves.

Morientes on the other hand had spent most of his career at Real Madrid, arguably the most famous club in the world, and scored the winner in the Champions League final once. He had an outstanding profile and was definitely one of Europe's top strikers. There's a big difference between Morientes and Forlan.
