Rincewind Posted 23 June 2006 Posted 23 June 2006 I'm not defending the motorist who does drink and drive. All I'm saying is that motorists would be pulled up for not wearing safety belts who not using lights at night. There is no law or insurance penalty if cyclist are involve in accidents. More and less referred to more cylists and lees cars. My previous sentence mentioned cyclists so I thought the subject matter did not have to be repeated.

On a serious note, I don't believe that bikes cause half the problems that are posed by uninsured and uncontrolled equines on the road. No tax disk, no MOT, piles of shit and liable to fly in any given direction permissable by the laws of Physics at the drop of a pin. Ban horses!
Rincewind Posted 23 June 2006 Posted 23 June 2006 I know you were messing. Overall cyclists are OK. I've seen more of them wearing helmets and viz jackets recently. We just need the roads improving and proper cycle paths to encourage more. How about a tax on drivers who only use their cars for short jouneys like going to the shops 1/2 mile away.
The People's Hero Posted 23 June 2006 Posted 23 June 2006 There's an original idea - tax car drivers.
Daggers Posted 23 June 2006 Author Posted 23 June 2006 There's an original idea - tax car drivers. I think lorry drivers should be taxed per murder - at the moment they get away with this without charge and the burden of clearing up their mess falls on the rest of us. Just another travisty taking place in Blairs Britain!
vanfox12 Posted 25 June 2006 Posted 25 June 2006 If cyclists were taxed for using a bike like motorists then we would probably wouldn't have theses arguments all the time. Lets face it Motorists, Cyclists and Pedestrians are all guilty of doing the wrong thing from time to time.
Daggers Posted 26 June 2006 Author Posted 26 June 2006 If cyclists were taxed for using a bike like motorists then we would probably wouldn't have theses arguments all the time. Coz taxing cyclists would be dead easy to police and put the mental into environmental.
Guest Posted 26 June 2006 Posted 26 June 2006 Cyclists are a pain in the arse. Stay on the pavement! Er it's technically a footpath, and I don't want to be run over by some knob on a bike, thanks.
