I agree, its the best formation. I didn't think Rooney could play up front on his own, but he proved he could in the second half and with Portugal missing key player for the game, i think we should all be looking forward to a semi final with Brazil.

Crouch can't play on the shoulder of defence whilst walcott will get found out against portugal, any milfielder turned into a striker will leave us in the same boat as 4-1-4-1, so we may as well just get used to it.

Out of the pathetic options that Sven has left himself, Crouch is the best man for the job because he will make a nuisance of himself and occupy the central defenders and Rooney can play off him. In theory. Sven hasn't actually played the two of them together to my recollection?

Hopefully Lampard will finally tuck one away. He's had 21 shots now in this World Cup, more than any other player. At least we're creating chances, ey?
