Guest Daniel Posted 18 November 2004 Posted 18 November 2004 Not alot to brag about but i failed it today. Started at Wigston at 9.37 and i failed it with 8 minors and 2 serious faults for poor observation. Abit annoyed but its not the end of the world, its only driving and i aint going to get myself down about it. When i got home i rang up and re-booked and the next available date is the 7th February, but told me to keep ringing for cancellations, so since dinner ive been ringing every 15 minutes and at the minute im down till 5th January, so im doing alright, hopefully will get it before Christmas at this rate. 80% of people pass second time.
Cat Burger Posted 18 November 2004 Posted 18 November 2004 They are pure picky 1st time!! Shame mate, mines 25th Jan, need a cancellation but I can't be arsed.
Guest Daniel Posted 18 November 2004 Posted 18 November 2004 Just ring up mate, if you give me your number ill ring up and get you one for before then. Actually, no i wont, i want them earlier ones.

Wilson Posted 19 November 2004 Posted 19 November 2004 I have been having lessons, my Driving instructor wants me to take my test in the middle of feb.
Scow Posted 19 November 2004 Posted 19 November 2004 I've had about 12 lessons, should be ready for a test around mid March hopefully. I can start driving to some away games then.
Wilson Posted 19 November 2004 Posted 19 November 2004 Thats one of the reasons I want to drive - so then I can drive to a few of the away games aswell.
Samu Posted 19 November 2004 Posted 19 November 2004 I passed second time at Wigston. My examiner hardly smiled throughout the whole thing and I swear I thought Id failed.....better luck next time mate
shen Posted 19 November 2004 Posted 19 November 2004 wow what are the odds of so many of you taking your license at the same time...?
Guest Posted 19 November 2004 Posted 19 November 2004 Bad luck, BM, hope you pass next time. I was put in for my test after 11 lessons. I passed first time!! I also had Starkey as the examiner, if anyone else has had to use Gipsy Lane, the notorious failer of up and coming young drivers!! We spent most of my test talking about my holiday and football. I had an inkling I'd passed..........

shen Posted 19 November 2004 Posted 19 November 2004 how old do you have to be in the UK before you can start taking driving lessons? and at what age can you have your license?.. and how much does it cost (everything included)?
Cat Burger Posted 19 November 2004 Posted 19 November 2004 Age 17 Age 17 (or a couple of months before) and between £15 and £20 an hour (yes it is a rip off) Most people take about 30 lessons to pass, I did my theory late (about 20 lessons in) so now I've booked my test and it seems like ages away. I've had 28 lessons and my test isn't until the end of January
Cat Burger Posted 19 November 2004 Posted 19 November 2004 Practical is around £50 and Theory is around £20
shen Posted 19 November 2004 Posted 19 November 2004 so up and around £450 - £650 ... I guess thats the normal price... I paid around £450 too for my license, although that includes one failed practical
Guest Daniel Posted 19 November 2004 Posted 19 November 2004 £42 for test and then got to pay your instructer for using his car for the time. Practical is £21 i think.

(Although I almost veered into a car in the right hand lane at a roundabout and Starky had to move the steering wheel for me!)
