Not quite up to the hype was it?!

Germany and the early Argentina were good value. I want to go to the next one for the group stage just to party with everyone...sod Fifa's crap ticket allocations and pricing policy.

... quite boring, actually. For the most part. I could've spend some more time in bed, doind an early exit instead of watching minimalistic "back-and-forth" football.

The first week was quite promising but it went rapidly downhill after that.

Too many teams underachieved, including England, and the progress of the diving, cheating Portuguese was a bad advert for the game.

Although Italy were probably the most consistent team in the tournament, if FIFA had took a hard line on the drugs and corruption scandals in their game (apart from the current match-fixing business), the manager and several members of his squad would not have been there!

The fact that they have emerged as the world champions does not reflect well upon the sport... :(

Two quotes I've just heard on 5Live ....

But it simply wasn't was it. Zidane just assaulted an opponent, Rooney stamped on some nuts, Ronaldo was [err] a tosser and the Spanish fans made monkey noises. There was some great football played, but the majority of it was defensive nonsense.

Roll on the new season. Give me real passion, give me real dull British midweek away 0-0 draws.
