Dellyjo Posted 19 July 2006 Posted 19 July 2006 I've got AOL broadband for £14.99 a month for signing up to a 12 month contract.
Benji Posted 19 July 2006 Posted 19 July 2006 We will have AOL no more come the 26th of this month, it's been a crock of sh1t too us. Nothing is ever their concern, all queries are the fault of everyone but themselves, and most call operators can't understand or speak english. We've had a couple of loss of connections, and BT have informed us that AOL can only request the phone line so you get the sh1t of the sh1t basically. Here's hoping for a better broadband.
Gamesmaster Posted 19 July 2006 Author Posted 19 July 2006 i too have had severely annoying opperators from india with tiscali. they atempt to be very polite, but struggle to speak IN the phone. they talk with an accent thats alien to me. with aol i got a irish lady, but that was because i wanted to purchase something...or atleast they thought i did. Benji, what do you mean about aol only requesting the phone line? you mean they wont work towards fixing a problem because its bt's problem? i wanted to join tiscali, 1mb, unlimited down/upload and landline £20, good deal, but for a crap connection modem that fails to work might try and blag another free month on aol, but will go for aol broadband eventually. they do have a good spyware scanning system, finds things ad-aware doesn't.
Loake Posted 19 July 2006 Posted 19 July 2006 I have freeserve/wanadoo/orange, 15.99 a month, have a few problems but not sure if it's their fault.
dandannieldanok Posted 19 July 2006 Posted 19 July 2006 Wanadoo for me to at £14.99 per month, a few connection problems and reliability is variable but all in all a decent package.
Benji Posted 19 July 2006 Posted 19 July 2006 Benji, what do you mean about aol only requesting the phone line? you mean they wont work towards fixing a problem because its bt's problem? AOL request BT for the phone line, so (as AOL's big competitor) BT only give their customers the adjustments etc that suit your area etc. Our problems have never been BT's, the phone line has always worked and everytime something was wrong our phone and sky continued to work as well as a test by the operator being successful. But actually getting to the problem has always been the longest thing in the world, they give you 10 (nice expensive) phone numbers to dial and no one takes responsiility. They even told us to get a Belkin wireless as it best suited AOL, yet when we had problems with the Belkin, they kindly informed us they do not support technical issues. All we want is to use the computer
Rincewind Posted 19 July 2006 Posted 19 July 2006 Bad time to lose connection is when you are playing poker and $32 up after 50 hands. Happened to me today. Poker Gods don't like me.
Knighton Matt Posted 20 July 2006 Posted 20 July 2006 These were the best packages I could find on the internet. I think I may have missed the point though?
macbeth Posted 20 July 2006 Posted 20 July 2006 its like looking at a row of clocks telling the times of major cities across the world
macbeth Posted 20 July 2006 Posted 20 July 2006 i think V21 package is pretty good at a tenner a month including calls
Knighton Matt Posted 20 July 2006 Posted 20 July 2006 its like looking at a row of clocks telling the times of major cities across the world post of the month for me! brilliant!
Bert Posted 20 July 2006 Posted 20 July 2006 Ntl dial up Only because the fockstains are so lazy and won't dig up the road to fit the specific requirements that broadband needs which we aint got
Gamesmaster Posted 20 July 2006 Author Posted 20 July 2006 i think V21 package is pretty good at a tenner a month including calls 11.99 after the first month, for 512k. you also have to buy a wireless connector plus 4.99 p&p so the first bill is £27 aol broadband is £15 per month, free for the first month, and you get aol's own service.
Knighton Matt Posted 20 July 2006 Posted 20 July 2006 its like looking at a row of clocks telling the times of major cities across the world Looks like it's between 10 p.m and 2 a.m. in Warsaw at the moment.
