SydneyFC Posted 3 August 2006 Posted 3 August 2006 Hey guys I was on a quest to find out if James Weslowski will be fit soon which led me to this forum. We don't hear much about him as he's been hurt for awhile. I'd also like to know if any of you guys are interested in Australian Football. Sydney FC won the league last season and we've got Terry Butcher as a coach and lured Dwight Yorke in. If you guys are interested in the club any further visit the website. http://www.sydneyfc.com/ Don't forget to give me the latest on Weslowski guys.
dandannieldanok Posted 3 August 2006 Posted 3 August 2006 Weso will be fully fit in the next week or so if not sooner and should play an important role this season

SydneyFC Posted 3 August 2006 Author Posted 3 August 2006 Well this is great news! Lets hope he doesn't break something else this season.
Stevosevic Posted 3 August 2006 Posted 3 August 2006 Well this is great news! Lets hope he doesn't break something else this season. is he highly rated over there in Aus?
Maybes Posted 3 August 2006 Posted 3 August 2006 is he highly rated over there in Aus? By the sounds of this he must be. Super WESO!
SydneyFC Posted 3 August 2006 Author Posted 3 August 2006 Very highly to the footy fans here. And Kaz Patafta who plays for Benfica is very highly rated too.

SydneyFC Posted 3 August 2006 Author Posted 3 August 2006 A short bio from the sydney fc forum: One of Australia’s most publicised young talents. But undoubtedly one of Australia’s top young talents, Patafta originally from Canberra, the Joeys U-17 Captain is a star in the making. A string of clubs were chasing Patafta, including Guus Hiddink, after he saw the player’s skill when he trained with the Socceroos prior to their matches against Uruguay. Originally overlooked by A-League clubs, Portuguese giants Benfica won his signature in November of 2005. Described as a cross between Harry Kewell and Tim Cahill, he is intelligent and hard working. The ultimate warhorse for the future Australian midfield, Patafta, who trained with the Socceroos prior to the World Cup, may well see action sooner than he thinks, with the Asia Cup qualifiers looming large on the horizon, many will not be surprised if Kaz Patafta is a sneak selection. But he and Weso are the most publicised talents in Australia. There are also a few guys like James Troisi and Adam Hardy that will be big too.

SydneyFC Posted 3 August 2006 Author Posted 3 August 2006 Some people on the streets reckon Kisnorbo will be a late bloomer but i'm not so sure. What do you guys think? In a few games last season where he was played in the midfield he was a shocker.

In a few games last season where he was played in the midfield he was a shocker. Levein started him in midfield in the holding role and he was abismal, and the fans where booing him. However since kelly took over he has been a real rock in defence.
SydneyFC Posted 3 August 2006 Author Posted 3 August 2006 If he stays that way he might get a call up for Australia. Is Henderson any good? We don't hear jackington about him but I read a few topics about him and he sounds shite.

They rank up there with kevin pressman

SydneyFC Posted 3 August 2006 Author Posted 3 August 2006 I saw him play once and he looked pretty sloppy. So I guess he's like that in all his games?
Maybes Posted 3 August 2006 Posted 3 August 2006 I saw him play once and he looked pretty sloppy. So I guess he's like that in all his games? Hes better than rab douglas anyway. Id prefer hendo to him.
Knighton Matt Posted 3 August 2006 Posted 3 August 2006 I saw him play once and he looked pretty sloppy. So I guess he's like that in all his games? His kicking is poor. His ability at dealing with crosses is very mixed...he likes to punch a lot but only looks convincing about 50% of the time. His shot stopping and dealing with 1 on 1 situations is superb.
SydneyFC Posted 3 August 2006 Author Posted 3 August 2006 Sounds like a pretty mediocre keeper. Have you guys seen Zeljiko Kalacs mistake in the world cup that nearly cost us dear? Dunno what they were thinking taking off Schwarzer.
Ric Flair Posted 3 August 2006 Posted 3 August 2006 David Williams looked good when I saw him in the under 17 championships a few years back, he and Wesolowski built up a great partnership in midfield. I really hoped Weso might have had a word with Leicester to bring Williams over here but no such luck, he's just signed for Copenhagen now I think? Very much a Tim Cahill type player. Weso will be the bollocks if he stays injury free, possibly the best player Leicester will of had for many years.
SydneyFC Posted 3 August 2006 Author Posted 3 August 2006 Robbie Kruse would do well at Leicester Methinks. I just can't wait to see Weslowski go a season without a serious injury now they show all the Championship games on tv.
Ric Flair Posted 3 August 2006 Posted 3 August 2006 Robbie Kruse would do well at Leicester Methinks. I just can't wait to see Weslowski go a season without a serious injury now they show all the Championship games on tv. The most complete player at 18 i've ever seen at Leicester. There are hardly any weaknesses in his game, it's scary.
SydneyFC Posted 3 August 2006 Author Posted 3 August 2006 Think you'll be able to keep hold of him for a few more years?
Stevosevic Posted 3 August 2006 Posted 3 August 2006 Think you'll be able to keep hold of him for a few more years? yeh, i dont think there have been any clubs looking at him yet.
Ric Flair Posted 3 August 2006 Posted 3 August 2006 Think you'll be able to keep hold of him for a few more years? If he stays injury free and fulfills his potential then very unlikely. I'd be amazed if some big clubs and I mean big clubs don't come sniffing as soon as he's established in the first team. Most of them know how good he is already, we pinched him under the noses of Man United 4 years ago. Rumours that teams like Juventus and even Barca had their eye on him aswell before Alan Hill (our ex academy director who also bought Kewell to Leeds) managed to bring him to Leicester.
