lookwhaticando Posted 16 August 2006 Posted 16 August 2006 England and Bayern Munich midfielder Owen Hargreaves, 25, is considering an offer from Manchester United."The offer from United is fantastic," Hargreaves, who recently signed a contract extension with Bayern, told German magazine Sport Bild. "Particularly as an England international, it is of interest and you never know if such an opportunity will arise again." "Now is the time to take the next step to develop even further." Hargreaves has spent his entire professional career with Bayern since moving to Germany from Canada in 1997. BBC News | Sport | Football Begs the question, how are they going to fit Hargreaves and Carrick into their team? Perhaps their plan to replace Keane is to play TWO defensive midfielders at the same time
dandannieldanok Posted 16 August 2006 Posted 16 August 2006 I guess Bayern have accepted an offer for him then.
lookwhaticando Posted 16 August 2006 Author Posted 16 August 2006 This probably now means they arnt getting senna. Good news for the ManU fans, I gather?

Maybes Posted 16 August 2006 Posted 16 August 2006 Bayern are said to be asking for £30,000,000 pfffffft
dandannieldanok Posted 17 August 2006 Posted 17 August 2006 Bayern are said to be asking for £30,000,000 pfffffft I think its £13mil not £30mil although listening to Johnathan Pearce last night it sounded very much like 30.
breadandcheese Posted 17 August 2006 Posted 17 August 2006 Hargreaves reminds me very much of a better version of Robbie Savage. He has a fantastic engine on him, never stops running and I think he will do well in the Premiership.

shen Posted 17 August 2006 Posted 17 August 2006 Amazing how quickly people have gone from slating Sven's protégé to hailing him as one of the best English holding midfielders...
lookwhaticando Posted 17 August 2006 Author Posted 17 August 2006 Amazing how quickly people have gone from slating Sven's protégé to hailing him as one of the best English holding midfielders... In all fairness, he was shite when he used to play his little bit part roles - particularly when he was out of position (playing RB for example). Sven had the vision to see Hargreaves would be useful, he just didn't have the right idea when it came to actually using him! Sven is to blame for the negative reaction poor Owen used to get.
Thracian Posted 17 August 2006 Posted 17 August 2006 He bossed the show last night. Won MoM although Gerrard must have pushed him close and Crouch continueing his goal spree with another two was another candidate although he faded after the break, as the team did generally, apart from when Lennon came on for the closing minutes.
