He is not the sort of players who recieves they ball, head up and cross straight away like Downing. He can excite the crowd and thats whats been missing from England side ever since Gazza's career ended

It ruins any excitement of them going pas a player as you know your probabley just going to end product will probabley be a corner. He's over rated. Stephen Gerrard has said he's enjoying playing on the right hand side, and Downing ( who can cross ) played alright ok against Grecce. I don't see the point in moving Gerrard to a unfamilar postion just to accomadate a player that isn't even that good.

His effect was never going to be great seeing as England had finished the job and supporting players couldn't be arsed.

How is Gerrard out of position on the left when he's out of position on the right. He'll cut inside all the time anyway. I always though when you cut inside ala Gerrard does its always better to cut inside on your favoured foot. i.e playing on the opposite side

Theres plenty of credibility in doing so, you don't have to move one of your best players into unfamilar teritory for one. When Joe Cole's back hopefully all this Lennon nonsence will stop for good.
