Best Losing Away Atmosphere!

Southend in the early 90s when we won 2-1

Sheffield Wednesday away in the Cup when we lost 7-1

Derby 97/98 when we won 4-0

Blackburn away when we lost 5-3 in the pouring rain

Obviously there'll be one or two who will recall us taking 6,000 to Chelsea in 1976, taking over the Shed End, losing 2-1, it all kicking off afterwards and escaping with one leg bitten off at the knee and an eye gouged out but it was all fun in them days etc etc.

Actually I've just edited this, Best Losing Away Atmosphere is a bit more novel. Scrap the Southend and Derby games.

OK, some reasons. Didn't actually go Sheffield Wednesday away but apparently there was a huge conga and my Dad always harps on about it whenever we are losing by more than two goals.

Blackburn was great. We went 5-0 down then got it back to 5-3 and were singing "we're gonna win 6-5" in driving rain and a bit of sleet and snow as well I think. I'm sure some more will come to me.

1-0 away at Forest back in 1998 I think it was? They were relegated and we were ripping the piss out of them all game, it got abit nasty at the end when they invaded the pitch and started hacking up divots and throwing them at us. I got showered with money aswell, which was nice. The game was crap and they scored a flukey goal and I think Zagorakis then proceeded to hit the bar atleast twice but we couldn't score.

If anyone else was at this game, can you remember that extremely fat bloke who we were taking the piss out of all game? He then ran on the pitch at full-time and because his belly was so big, his trousers fell down and wrapped round his ankles and he fell over, it was hilarious.

Don't remember the fat bloke but Chris Bart-Williams (played by Flavor Flav) scored for them

I loved the atmosphere when we lost 6-1 at Ipswich....

We sang and partied until the end.....

Yeah that was pretty mint atmosphere," 6-1 and you still dont sing"

The Ipswich fans are terrible, some of my freinds have season tickets and they say its really bad.

The Sheffield Wednesday 7-1 defeat was a classic. You are watching you're team getting torn apart like a straw house in a tornado and yet you strangely find yrself having a great time.

Best thing I remember about that night was Sheffield Wednesday fans all chanting 'We want eight' and the massed ranks of City fans were just chanting 'we want one'. And when Bobby Davison - I think that's right - scored we went absolutely ballistic like we'd just won the cup. The looks on the Sheffield Wednesday fans faces was a picture. Cracking night that.

I remember him, how could I forget? Didn't the City fans call him Barry Bethal, or was that another game?
